Madmen: a show with all the spaceage fashions, furniture, office politics, old fashioned cocktails, beatniks, sex, city glamour and intrigue a retro lover could ever ask for! I can't believe I have never watched it before! There is a marathon on AMC today. Now that I am watching it, it is especially significant to me since it takes place in the year before I was born. As far as the cultural references, it seems to ring true, especially with the "What do women want?" "Who Cares?" sexism and machismo of the times.

My brother acted in one of the episodes in Season 2 and EVERYTHING on set is the real deal - actual vintage stuff (not just replicas). He also wore a suit in his scene that was vintage as well. He said the clothes were so much better than anything he can buy today... Not surprised.
It's a wonderful show - no doubt!
